FAQs

General

Can I add a motor to my existing garage door?

It depends on the type of door you have.  Give us a call or email us a photograph of the inside of your door and we will let you know if it is possible along with a quotation.

Do you repair/service garage doors and/or motors?

Yes we do! We repair and service all makes and model of garage door and automation systems.  Our call out is £90 and this covers up to one hour of labour.  Many jobs can be fixed without the need for parts.  If you do need new parts (such as cables, wheel spindles, spring, handle) then we will always agree a price before we commence the work.  New cables start from just £25 so a repair may not be as costly as you first think.  We can replace motors too but we will always try and get your old one working first.

Do you replace the frame?

The majority of our customers choose a garage door with a steel fixing frame.  We can also fix to existing timber frames,  assuming the timber is in good condition.  Sectional and roller doors are fitted behind or between the brickwork and come with their own guides/frame.

Do you supply and install front doors?

Unfortunately not, but we know a man who can!

Do you supply spare parts for me to carry out the work myself?

Yes! Give us a call or drop us an email with what you are after and we shall let you know a price and whether we have it in stock or how long it will be to order in for you.

How much does a new garage door cost?

We get asked this question a lot and the price depends on size, spec, design and finish.  The manufacturer’s price list is as long as the brochure!  To gain an accurate price for a new door we recommend Mark carries out a full survey. He can then talk through your options and different prices with you.  If you would like a guide price, subject to survey, please send us details of the door you are looking for along with brickwork opening sizes.

I need someone to repaint my garage door and knock out a dent, can you help?

Unfortunately we do not carry out this type of remedial work, sorry.

If I buy a cheap door off the internet, will you fit it?

Unfortunately not.  Unless you are confident in measuring and installing garage doors we strongly recommend against purchasing a door off the internet and fitting yourself.  Our advice is to let us visit you and give you a quote, you may be surprised at our prices.  Whilst a ‘cheap’ door off the internet may sound like a good deal when you purchase from us you receive our excellent customer service, installation warranty and if you have any queries or concerns with your door, we are only a telephone call away.

I’ve lost my remote control

Please send us a photo of an existing remote or your control panel and we can provide you with a price for a new one.

My door is still working but its getting ‘sticky’ or hard to close, what shall I do?

Sometimes a spray of GT85 on the moving parts is enough to give your door a new lease of life.  Or book a service with us for just £90 and we will check all the moving parts, advise if any need replacing and get it working as good as new.

What colour are your garage doors?

All doors come in a range of standard colours.  The following types of door can be finished in any RAL number of your choice but you will pay a premium for the service; Timber, GRP, Roller and Sectional.   Timber doors can also come in base coat stain or prima for you to paint yourself.

What warranty/guarantee do your garage doors come with?

All our garage doors come with a minimum two year warranty, most are five years and some manufacturers offer ten years.  Motors come with a five year warranty and we provide a fitting warranty for two years as per Door and Hardware Federation guidance.  For full details see our Terms & Conditions.
